DREAMERS is an immersive three-day retreat that focuses on The Dreaming Body, and therefore on the subtle movement and often elusive imagery we all contain within the body. Each day we will work to enhance the connection between the conscious and subconscious mind using dreaming techniques developed by Catherine Shainberg, combined with somatic and movement/theatrical exercises to stimulate our inner creative reservoir.
The practice of inner vision facilitates direct engagement with one's subconscious, unlocking creativity, truth, and inner guidance through vivid imagery. Participants will be encouraged to pay attention to the bodily/sensory experience during this process.
In doing so, they may begin to experience a transformative dialogue between their conscious intentions and subconscious insights, empowering them to manifest their realizations in reality while fully engaging in the creative process.
Through a structured series of movement and theatrical exercises each day, we progressively aim to cultivate greater awareness of our individual artistic expressions, ultimately leading us toward the embodiment of a clearly defined and unique artistic language. This practice acts as a vehicle, then, leading to a rich exploration of the interplay between our inner impulses and outward actions, encouraging participants to engage deeply with their sensory experiences as they traverse the vast landscape of inner imagery.
Connection between conscious and subconscious mind through movement, imagery, and somatic practices.
• Open to all actors, dancers, and performers seeking to deepen their creative process and enhance their artistic expression, and anyone interested in delving deeper into oneself.
• No prior experience in dreamwork or movement disciplines is necessary—just a willingness to explore
